AIChE Journal, the official journal of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, published a Perspective article from PEESE, in collaboration with NASA and ExxonMobil through a public-private-academic partnership, titled “Perspectives of Quantum Computing for Chemical Engineering” (AIChE Journal, 68, e17651). The article is also featured on the cover of June 2022 issue of AIChE Journal. See the top row of the cover art above.
In February 2022, Ning’s paper titled “Toward Carbon-Neutral Electric Power Systems in the New York State: a Novel Multi-Scale Bottom-Up Optimization Framework Coupled with Machine Learning for Capacity Planning at Hourly Resolution” (ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng., 2022, 10, 5, 1805–1821), was selected to feature on the cover of February 2022 issue of ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng. See the left graphic on the top row of the cover art above. Specifically, this work on AI tool for New York State’s energy transition was reported by some news media. Some recent ones include, but are not limited to, the ones below:

In August 2021, Xiang’s paper titled “Consequential Life Cycle Assessment and Optimization of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic Waste Chemical Recycling” (ACS Sustainable Chem. In June 2018, a paper by Jiyao, titled “Integrated Hybrid Life Cycle Assessment and Optimization of Shale Gas.” (ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng., 2018, 6 (2), pp 1803–1824), was selected to feature on the cover of June 2018 issue of ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng.
Two graduate students from Prof. José María Ponce-Ortega’s group, Aurora de Fátima Sánchez-Bautista and José Ezequiel Santibañez-Aguilar, visited PEESE in 2016. Their research work on pollution trading to improve the sustainability of energy systems was selected to feature on the cover of the March 2017 issue of ACS Sustainable Chem. Eng.
